The capital and largest city is Accra Ghana has twice the per capita output of the poorer countries in West Africa. Even though it is endowed with natural resources, Ghana remains heavily on international financial and technical assistance. Gold, timber, and cocoa production are major sources of foreign exchange

Foundation History
HACF founded in 1996, but the roots of the organization date back to 1989 when founder Gladys Richardson first visited West Africa for the first time. The poverty and suffering she witnessed, created a desire to help. Upon returning home, she shared her experience with family, friends and coworkers. Every year since 1996 volunteers and supporters of HACF have help provide service to Ghana’s children with compassion and respect for the culture.

At HACF we impact the lives of children by working effectively to change existing conditions in their communities which limit access to healthcare, education, food, clothing and shelter.
